laupāhoehoe oasis
A nested, edible oasis design and living windbreak system for a 3-acre residential landscape.

Private Residence | Laupāhoehoe, HI
This residential design nested a 3-acre landscape in an edible oasis of exotic fruits, native flora, and tropical fragrances. Often impacted by tradewinds, the site conditions warranted a robust living windbreak system to protect the diverse plantings and greenhouse location. Endemic and indigenous Hawaiian plants were used to stabilize the site’s slopes.
