Agricultural Master Plan | Kaʻamola Ahupuaʻa, HI
ʻĀina Momona is a nonprofit dedicated to advocating for the rights, sovereignty, and social and physical well-being of the Native Hawaiian people through ʻāina-minded activism and by educating communities in vital cultural values and practices. The client sought an agricultural master plan to address the impacts of sea-level rise. Combining indigenous restoration practices with cutting-edge regenerative strategies, this agricultural plan integrated food and resource production and processing, native habitat zones, and educational and social gathering spaces. The design expressed the unique essence of the Kaʻamola ahupuaʻa, which guides the site’s adaptations to a rapidly changing world.
